Job Title: Adult Education Coordinator - Full Time
​
Casa de Amigos is committed to empowering adult learners through accessible, high-quality educational programs. We serve a diverse population of learners seeking to improve their literacy, English language proficiency, digital skills, and job readiness.
​
We are seeking a passionate and organized Adult Education Coordinator to oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of adult education programs. The Coordinator will work closely with instructors, community partners, and learners to ensure effective service delivery that meets the educational goals of adults in our community.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Develop, coordinate and oversee Adult Education programs, including:
1. English as a Second Language (ESL) classes
2. Adult Literacy
3. Digital Literacy
4. General Education Development (GED) classes
5. Citizenship classes

Recruit, train, and supervise part time instructors and volunteers assisting with Adult Education. Ensures availability of needed supplies, rooms, etc.

Conducts assessments and intake interviews to determine student placement and learning goals.

Monitors program performance, track student progress and prepare reports as required.

Teaches classes as needed.

Build partnerships with community contacts pertaining to adult education, i.e. Midland College, Literacy Coalition of the Permian Basin, etc.

Offers support to students through follow up meetings, phone calls, educational guidance, and instruction.

Maintains accurate and current program records, attendance, statistics, and reports; submits reports in a timely manner.

Maintains awareness of other programs and resources both within Casa de Amigos and in the community; coordinates and refers when appropriate.

Coordinates with Development Director or assigned PR staff for public relations and outreach.

Attends job related training(s) and works as a team member.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

Understanding of educational assessment tools.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database systems.

Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.

Relates well with people of all ages, ethnicity, economic and educational levels.

Ability to work with other staff; a “team player”.

Flexibility to change and adjust programs according to needs of participants.

Bilingual preferred.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, or related field
Teaching or on-the-job experience and knowledge in educational needs for adults, three or more years preferred.
This position is full time. Adult Education Classes are Monday-Thursday mornings and Tuesday/Thursday evenings.

Job Title: GED Instructor - Part Time

Casa de Amigos looking for a GED Instructor who is ready to inspire and empower students!
Monday-Thursday Mornings 9:00-11:30
Tuesday & Thursday Evenings 6:30-8:30
Responsibilities include:

Teach GED Students subjects: Math, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts.

Create engaging lesson plans and provide individualized support.

Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in education or related field

Experience in teaching or tutoring; especially in adult education

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
